Funerals

A funeral is a service celebrating love and life, of all that has been so special about the person for whom the farewell is. But more than that, it is a reflection of love and memory and relationships and connections.

It is a tender time, when we are in one way or another confronted with feelings of loss and uncertainty. There will be disbelief and sadness in the hearts of many. Perhaps it is hard to admit, even to ourselves, how profoundly vulnerable death can make us feel.

Being a celebrant for a funeral for me means understanding all the feelings of those affected by the death. In order to do that, I like to meet with appropriate family members to listen to their memories, ideas and thoughts. We discuss all the aspects of the service that you may want and I can provide with examples of readings, hymns, poems and eulogy frameworks.

I believe I am a very compassionate and empathetic person and as an independent celebrant, I am able to interact and relate to people of all races, creeds and religions.
