for all those special occasions

About Me

For me, becoming a celebrant was very special for many reasons. My father was a celebrant for many years and I enjoyed talking with him about the pleasure he got from meeting people and assisting them by officiating at their special occasions. Before becoming a celebrant, I was a primary school teacher and as such I enjoyed interacting with children and adults in a variety of different situations. I believe that the formalising of an important occasion, whatever it is, with ceremony is creating memory for all involved. During my teaching career, I have taken great pride in and enjoyed being part of important milestones with my students and that pleasure is now continuing in my celebrant’s role.

The first wedding I had the pleasure of officiating was very special in that I got to wear two hats that day, first as the celebrant, and second as the mother of the groom. By carrying on the tradition my father had started with my family, in marrying my three sisters and I, and a number of his grandchildren, it was a great honour to start my career as a celebrant with my own son and daughter in-law.

Since then, it has been wonderful to be able to use my people skills to create ceremonies, both weddings and funerals, that ensure those involved are able to have their stories told in the way that reflects their wishes. It’s important you find someone who understands your story, style and sense of humour, and tailors your ceremony to reflect this. My focus is always to make it an unforgettable day -   “Memories are timeless treasures of the heart.”
